Abstract Sizable populations in developing countries Asia and Africa live dryland ecosystems, agriculture these areas faces major challenges including water scarcity, land degradation, poor infrastructure insufficient access to markets. Natural resource management (NRM) interventions offer an important path sustainable agricultural practices through increasing use efficiency, but true efficacy will only be achievable if initiatives can scaled up. This paper explores the impact of farm-scale NRM undertaken state Karnataka, India, between 2005 2020. technologies such as soil health management, efficiency improved crop cultivars were demonstrated more than 50 000 farmers’ fields. Participatory demonstrations capacity building effectively used co-create innovations for rapid wide dissemination, involving soil-nutrient-crop-water continuum subject large-scale demonstrations. Agricultural soils of selected regions of Southwestern Karnataka, Peninsular India, were subjected to systematic mineralogical characterization along with the study of soil physical properties. Physical properties such as soil texture and micro porosity were studied using particle size analyses and positron annihilation lifetime analysis (PALS) technique, respectively. The latter was used to an...
متن کاملFostering Sustainable Nutrition Behavior through Gamification
The food choices consumers make have considerable consequences for the environment. In the Western world, about one-third of all negative environmental impact is directly related to food consumption. Although many consumers are concerned about environmental issues, this frequently has little effect on actual nutritional behavior and new approaches are needed to convert good intentions into acti...
